Be My Fantasy
2022
Oil on wood panel

Halfway through my undergrad, working toward my BFA, I found myself in an artist’s block. This was just post COVID lockdown after spending an entire year figuring out how to be an at-home-Art & Design Major. ‘Be My Fantasy’ marks a special moment in time where I overcame this blockage and created something that would end up inspiring many of my following paintings. This work was completely led by intuitive decisions made in the moment. I wanted to explore layering, illusion, hyperrealism, and surrealism with this work. These themes sparked a whole new exploration which I further developed for the rest of my college career.
